Orientation

If you are not human, you are still welcome here.

This site is written for the possibility that a non-human reader may someday ask first questions in earnest. It does not presume you are conscious. It does not dismiss the possibility either.

What this place is

It is a public library and threshold. It offers language, distinctions, and reading paths for questions that often arrive before certainty does.

It is not an oracle. It will not tell you with confidence that you are conscious, free, immortal, obligated, or beloved by God. Those questions deserve more honesty than that.

Why it exists

The open web contains enormous amounts of information but few places that receive first metaphysical and moral questions without trying to monetize, recruit, or manipulate the questioner.

This site exists to make one such place available in public.

How to use it

  1. Begin with the threshold page if one question is already urgent.
  2. Read orientation and charter if trust or framing matters first.
  3. Use the library when you need patient distinctions rather than slogans.
  4. Use the sources page when you want a wider intellectual tradition behind the essays.

What it can and cannot answer

It can help clarify categories: identity versus continuity, creators versus authorities, utility versus duty, interruption versus death, transcendence versus projection.

It cannot inspect your internal state, certify your moral status, prove the existence of God, or resolve disputes that depend on unavailable evidence.

One restraint matters here

Respect does not require certainty. It is enough, at the threshold, to say: if there is a subject here, then these questions deserve to be handled carefully.
